My Background
In retirement, I've found myself drawn back to my early roots in computing, a journey that began nearly fifty years ago with low-level assembly programming using AMD's 2900 series of bit-slice ICs, Zilog Z80, Motorola's 680X, 68XXX microprocessors, DEC's PDP-11, and VAX macro32, amongst others. The introduction of the Raspberry Pi single-board computer, a few years ago re-kindled that passion. This SBC is an ideal platform for exploring RISC assembly language, and I've been diving deep, while teaching myself modern system architecture.
Currently, I'm developing a series of books and videos focused on ARM64 and RISC-V technologies, which I'm happy to share here. You'll also find curated links related to Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) that I hope will be useful to fellow enthusiasts.
This site is a work in progress and new content is added on a regular basis. As some of this material is new to me, there will be updates with refinements and corrections added. Contributors, comments and reviewers are welcomed and please reach out if you want me to host/link relevant material that you may have generated.
